Universal has released a new trailer for The Mummy, a reboot of its 1999 original starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz and the beginning of a new shared universe for its Universal Monsters. Alex Kurtzman (People Like US) is at the helm with a script by Jon Spaihts (Passengers) and Christopher McQuarrie (M:I-4 – Rogue Nation).
Tom Cruise toplines The Mummy with stunners Annabelle Wallis (Annabelle) – getting a lot more face time this go around and looking every bit a leading lady – and Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service) as the Mummy! The film arrives in theaters June 9.
Warner Bros. has released the first full-length trailer for Annabelle: Creation, a James Wan produced sequel to the original Conjuring spinoff that saw the demonically possessed doll wreck havoc on a young family in 1969 Los Angeles. Set for release May 19, 2017, the film is directed by Lights Out maestro David F. Sandberg.
Annabelle: Creation follows an orphanage nun (Stephanie Sigman) who takes refuge with her girls at a doll maker’s(Anthony Lapaglia) home when her facility is shut down. Things go from bad to worse when she and the orphans catch Annabelle’s attention.
Jennifer Lawrence stars in Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming psychological frightener Mother! Slated for release Oct. 13, the film centers on a couple whose tranquil relationship is strained by the arrival of uninvited guests. Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, Domhnall Gleeson, and Michelle Pfeiffer co-star.
The film is Aronofsky’s first since the embarrassment that was Noah and is said to find him back in Black Swan territory. While we’d prefer to see Lawrence in Requiem for a Dream/Jennifer Connelly territory, Swan did rock hot lesbian action between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis – not ass-to-ass good, but solid.
Will Aronofsky get Lawrence to do one of his time honored lesbian scenes? It did earn Portman an Oscar in 2011. Unfortunately, Lawrence – who is coming off the criminally underrated Passengers and X-Men: Apocalypse – already won an Oscar for 2013’s Silver Linings Playbook and may not be so easily swayed to show off some skin.
Rooney Mara may not be hot enough to carry on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo franchise, but you’d be hard pressed to find an actress who could sell you on sorrow like she can. The girl does mopey sad-puss like no other, which makes her perfect for a film about loss, loneliness, and unbearable grief.
A Ghost Story stars Mara as the woeful widow of Casey Affleck, who is abruptly ripped from her life and whose mournful spirit returns to their home to keep watch over her as time carries on, evaporating what remains of his humanity.
With no romantic pottery and/or Whoopi Goldberg character in sight, A Ghost Story looks like a brutally heart-wrenching work that will surely put terrible, disturbing thoughts in your head – assuming, of course, you have someone and aren’t just a miserable loner whose never known true love. In theaters July 7.
Halle Berry may be 50, but she remains physically stunning as ever and, more importantly, hip to what the cool kids are doing, namely Instagram. Not one to get outdone by social media attention whores, the Academy Award winning actress posted a revealing photo on her IG account.
The picture shows Berry in a sheer white dress, reminding us all how big and beautiful her boobs are to this day. Berry hasn’t shown them off since 2001’s Monster’s Ball and Swordfish. The pic doesn’t go as far as the scenes in those movies, but damn if those mammaries don’t jog the memory.
Berry is coming off the surprisingly short-lived Steven Spielberg-produced sci-fi series “Extant” and is best known to today’s young whipper-snappers as Storm in the ongoing X-Men franchise. She’s starred in the psychological frightener Gothika, shark movie Dark Tide, and the thrillers Perfect Stranger and The Call. She’ll next be seen in abduction thriller Kidnap.
Charlize Theron and Sofia Boutella play sexy assassins who go nude during a heated lesbian encounter in John Wick director David Leitch’s Atomic Blonde, an adaptation of graphic novel “The Coldest City.” It’s the first bit of Theron nudity since banging Mexican dishwashers in 2009’s The Burning Plain and losing her hotness thunder to Margot Robbie.
A nude lesbian scene with a hottie like Boutella is a smart move for Theron if she hopes to hinder Robbie’s rise as sex symbol extraordinaire. Of course, a little pr spin is needed to make it all seem less plotted and fun.
In recent interviews, Theron has been going on and on about how hot it was to make-out with Boutella, but we know she died a little inside – and that makes the scene all the hotter!
Seducing her? It’s very easy, she’s gorgeous! She was just great. She was the only actress that we looked at. She came over, she hung out with me and [director] Dave and there was something about her that was so genuinely innocent and yet incredibly strong, that she was really perfect for the film.
She’s a dancer, I’m a dancer. So, we’re a little bit like — you know dancers are like, ‘What? Being naked is nothing.’ We just wanted it to be real and cool.
Yeah, okay, Charlize, we believe you… and, don’t worry, we wouldn’t miss this scene for the world! Unless a new Robbie movie with a nude lesbian scene is opening the same weekend!
Warner Bros. has released a final trailer for Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, a retelling of the classic tale starring Charlie Hunnam (“Sons of Anarchy”) as Arthur and Clatto favorite Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) as Mage, a hot magician and resistance fighter.
The new story finds Arthur orphaned and raised in a brothel when his parents are murdered and his uncle seizes the crown, robbing him of his birthright. He grows up in the back alleys running guns with a motorcycle club until he comes upon the Excalibur sword and discovers his true calling.
HBO has released a promo trailer for season seven of its epic fantasy series “Game of Thrones.” While show footage is yet to be revealed, the battle ahead is teased as Jon Snow (Kit Harington) takes his place as Winterfell’s King of the North, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) sits at her birthland Dragonstone, and Cersei Lannister’s (Lena Headey) claims King’s Landing’s Iron Throne.
All will have to deal with the Night King and his white walker army. It all goes down July 16.
