The Host centers on an alien invasion of human minds. Melanie Stryder (Ronan) is a young woman whose thoughts of love confuse her would-be extraterrestrial body-snatcher, making it difficult to seize control of her thoughts and keep one’s lunch.

Production Begins on ‘Patrick’ Remake, Sharni Vinson Stars!

Sharni-Vinson-lingerie

Production has begun on director Mark Hartley’s (Machete Maidens Unleashed) remake of Richard Franklin’s (Psycho 2, Cloak & Dagger) 1978 Australian frightener Patrick, starring Sharni Vinson (You’re Next), Rachel Griffiths (“Six Feet Under”) and Charles Dance (“Game of Thrones”).

Patrick is the story of a man who falls into a comatose state after murdering his mother and her lover three years prior. When a beautiful nurse (Vinson) is assigned to his care, he uses psychokinetic powers to communicate with her and to destroy those who get in the way of his new found obsession.

Vinson (pictured above) is coming off Anchor Bay’s killer shark flick Bait 3-D and will next be seen in Lionsgate’s violent home-invasion thriller You’re Next, directed by Adam Wingard’s (A Horrible Place to Die).

Anne Hathaway Welcomes the ‘Robopocalypse’

anne-hathaway-breasts-peep

Anne Hathaway is set to star in Steven Spielberg’s Robopocalypse, an adaptation of Daniel H. Wilson’s novel about an artificial intelligence called Archos that takes control of all machines and Terminator Skynet 2001: Space Odyssey War Games I, Robot.

Hathaway tells Empire Online:

If Robopocalypse happens I will be in it, and I believe it’s quite real, though you never want to hang your hat on anything.

Unless its a hat rack. You can hang your hat on a hat rack.

Hathaway, who was handpicked by Spielberg to play the film’s female lead, joins a cast that includes Chris Hemsworth (Avengers), Ben Whishaw (Cloud Atlas) and possibly gorgeous Brit Gemma Arterton (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters), who is currently in negotiations.

Hathaway’s genre creds are limited to the TriStar supernatural thriller Passengers, Tim Burton’s horrible Alice in Wonderland and Chris Nolan’s surprisingly disappointing The Dark Knight Rises.

‘Total Recall’ Starlet Kaitlyn Leeb Will Make You Beg for ‘Wolves’

Kaitlyn-Leeb-Three-Breasts-Total-Recall

Wolves is screenwriter David Hayter’s (The Scorpion King) directorial debut . It stars “Game of Thrones” bad ass Jason Momoa and sexy up-and-comer Merritt Patterson. The story revolves around an 18-year-old orphan (Lucas Till) who ends up in the middle of a werewolf war while looking for answers to his ancestry.

While any of that is enough to spark interest in the project, what makes Wolves a must-see for genre fans is the casting of America’s new sci-fi sweetheart Kaitlyn Leeb. The Chinese and Irish stunner played the iconic role of Mary the three-breasted hooker in this summer’s Total Recall remake.

No word on Leeb’s character, but how cool would it be if she kept the three-boob prosthetic in every film going forward? Yes, I coulda been an agent.

Ashley Greene May Run with the Devil in ‘Satanic’

ashley-greene-lingerie

Ashley Greene (Twilight Saga) is in talks to join Haley Bennett (The Haunting of Molly Hartley) in The Weinstein Company’s recently announced frightener Satanic. Oliver Blackburn (Donkey Punch) is attached to direct from a script by Anthony Jaswinski (Vanishing on 7th Street).

Satanic follows a group of college kids as they’re attacked in their dormitory during the Thanksgiving Day holiday by what I assume are satanic hooligans. The film shoots this month in New Orleans and is slated for release on Aug. 30, 2013.

Greene, best known to Twi-hards as Alice Cullen—Edward’s adopted little sister—in Summit Entertainment’s Twilight Saga, was last seen in this summer’s impressively stupid, not-so-supernatural thriller The Apparition.

Disney, Lucasfilm Hire Michael Arndt to Write ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’

episode-vii

The force is strong with Academy Award winning screenwriter Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine). Along with penning the Tom Cruise sci-fi thriller Oblivion and adapting Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games: Catching Fire for Lionsgate, Arndt will now write the script for Star Wars: Episode VII.

In case you’ve been in a coma or are a Star Trek geek, Disney purchased Lucasfilm LTD in October for $4.05 billion in stocks and cash. Plans for a new Star Wars trilogy, beginning with Episode VII to be released in 2015, soon followed.

Arndt made his Oscar-winning screenwriting debut in 2006 with the irreverent comedy Little Miss Sunshine (Best Original Screenplay). He followed that up with the Academy Award nominated Toy Story 3 (Best Adapted Screenplay).

It’s Time to Take Former Child Actor Alexa Vega’s Breasts Seriously!

Alexa-Vega-Semi-Nude

Spy Kids child star Alexa Vega plays whore house hit-woman KillJoy in Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills, a sequel to the director’s 2010 grind-house actioner Machete. The 24-year-old Latina posted the above image on her Instagram to tease the sexy new role.

Many say Rodriguez is exploiting Vega—an actress he first hired at age 13—by stripping her down to lingerie and chaps. Vega, however, has told the media that she took the part to “own her sexuality.” I’m just wondering if that’s the same outfit Jessica Alba wore in Rodriguez’s Sin City… think about that for a minute.

Machete Kills follows ex-Federale Machete (Danny Trejo) as he’s recruited by the U.S. government to bring down a billionaire arms dealer (Mel Gibson) threatening global warfare with a high-tech space weapon. Costars include Charlie Sheen, Sofia Vergara, Zoe Saldana, Amber Heard, Vanessa Hudgens, twins Elise and Electra Avellan, Lady Gaga and returning players Alba and Michelle Rodriguez.

The Running Dead: ‘World War Z’ Trailer Is Here!

Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos

Paramount Pictures released this week the first trailer for its big screen adaptation of author Max Brooks novel World War Z. The film is directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) and stars Brad Pitt, Mirielle Enos (”The Killing”), Julia Levy-Boeken (“Entourage”), Ed Harris (The Abyss), and Matthew Fox (”LOST”).

The footage shown in the trailer should give the willies to anyone who’s seen “Infested” on Animal Planet or lived in New York. The zombies attack in droves. They scurry. They steal watermelon from your picnic table.  It’s pretty unsettling.

Make Time for Briana Evigan in ‘3:30 A.M.’

BrianaEvigan-leggy

Clatto favorite Briana Evigan is currently in negotiations to star in Slater Brothers Entertainment and Eden Vale’s long gestating frightener 3:30 A.M. Mick Davis, screenwriter of 2007’s The Invisible, is attached to direct the project.

Davis told Variety:

3:30 a.m. combines the eerie science of the autonomic nervous system with the real horror of one girl’s terrifying journey.

Sounds like that time I was coming back from Tijuana after having drank the water.

3:30 A.M. is slated to shoot in Romania in February. Producers are also in talks with Matt Dallas (“Kyle XY”) to costar.

Evigan most recently starred in Darren Lynn Bousman’s horror musical The Devil’s Carnival and his remake of the 1980 Troma Entertainment’s rape/revenge thriller Mother’s Day. She can also be seen in screenwriter W. Peter Iliff’s (Point Break, Patriot Games) directorial debut Rites of Passage.

Lacey Chabert, Danielle Harris Will Keep You Up in ‘Ghost of Goodnight Lane’

ghost-of-goodnight-lane

A creepy trailer has gone online for the Lacey Chabert-toplined frightener Ghost of Goodnight Lane, a supernatural story based on writer/director Alin Bijan’s own bump-in-the-night encounters at his haunted production house Media World Studios.

Ghost of Goodnight Lane centers on a group of actors tormented by a malevolent female specter while shooting a project inside a renovated movie studio. Costars include Danielle Harris (Halloween), Christine Quinn (Shark Night), Matt Dallas (”Kyle XY”), Richard Tyson (Black Waters of Echo Pond) and Billy Zane (The Roommate).

This thing seriously freaks me out. The makeup; the faces… just disturbing. Still, I can’t stop myself from watching the 2:23 mark over-and-over.
