“Twin Peaks” alumna Madchen Amick is set to star in “Witches of East End,” a Lifetime pilot based on the 2011 Melissa de la Cruz bestseller about a family of witches. She joins costars Rachel Boston (“American Dreams”), Jenna Dewan-Tatum (Tamara), Glenne Headly (“ER”), Daniel Ditomasso, Patrick Heusinger (Nanny Diaries) and Julia Ormond (Surveillance).
“Witches of East End” follows Joanna Beauchamp (Ormond), a small-town art teacher who when faced with a dangerous threat to her family reveals to her two adult daughters (Boston, Tatum) that they were born witches and that they must embrace their powers. Amick will play Joanna’s sister Wendy, a beautiful witch that shape-shifts into a cat.
Amick last genre role was in Screen Gems’ 2011 post-apocalyptic-vampire-frightener Priest. The now 41-year-old stunner can also be seen in the 1992 Stephen King-penned Sleepwalkers and 1993’s psychological thriller Dream Lover, starring James Spader. Those with grey on their nutsack know her best as abused waitress Shelly Johnson on David Lynch’s groundbreaking TV series “Twin Peaks.”
