Speilberg’s ‘Terra Nova’ Looks Great! But Where Is Chaka?

Terra-Nova-Shannon-Family

Fox has released a full-length trailer for its Steven Spielberg-produced time travel adventure series “Terra Nova.” The show follows the Shannon family as they’re sent back to The Land of the Lost prehistoric times to escape present day doom on Earth.

Peep it:

The show’s synopsis in-a-shell reads:

TERRA NOVA follows an ordinary family on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric Earth as a small part of a daring experiment to save the human race. In the year 2149, the world is dying. The planet is overdeveloped and overcrowded, with the majority of plant and animal life extinct. The future of mankind is in doubt, and its only hope for survival is in the distant past.

The series centers on the Shannon family as they join the Tenth Pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the first colony established in this beautiful yet forbidding land. Upon the Shannon’s arrival, they are introduced to Commander Nathaniel Taylor (Stephen Lang), the charismatic and heroic first pioneer and leader of the settlement.

Along with blue skies, towering waterfalls and lush vegetation, the surrounding terrain is teeming with danger – and not just of the man-eating dinosaur variety. There is also a splinter colony of renegades led by the battle-hardened MIRA (Christine Adams), who is vehemently opposed to Taylor and his leadership.

Even more threatening than what lies outside the protective walls of the colony is the chilling possibility that something sinister is happening inside Terra Nova. The Shannons will come to suspect that not everyone on this mission has the same idea of how to best save mankind; in fact, there may be forces intent on destroying this new world before it even begins.

“Terra Nova”stars Jason O’Mara (Resident Evil: Extinction), Stephen Lang (Avatar), Shelley Conn (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Allison Miller (Blood: the Last Vampire), Landon Liboiron (Altitude), Christine Adams (Tron: Legacy) and Naomi Scott (“Life Bites”).

The series is set to premiere in the fall on Fox.

Saoirse-Ronan-in-The-Host

Saoirse Ronan, the 17-year-old star of director Joe Wright’s exceptional teen assassin actioner Hanna, has been cast as the lead in Inferno Entertainment’s big screen adaptation of “Twilight Saga” author Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novel “The Host.”

The Host centers on an alien invasion of human minds. Ronan will play Melanie Stryder, a young woman whose thoughts of love make it impossible for her extraterrestrial body-snatcher to seize control of her thoughts.

Writer/director Andrew Niccol (Gattaca) penned the film’s script and is a strong contender to helm the project being that he was previously attached to do so before stepping down to direct the Amanda Seyfried/Justin Timberlake/Olivia Wilde sci-fi thriller Now.

Ronan’s creds include the 2008 sci-fi fantasy City of Ember and Peter Jackson’s 2009 adaptation of author Alice Sebold’s The Lovely Bones.

Actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson, best known for her turn as nurse Debbie Hurst on ABC’s short-lived sci-fi mystery series “FlashForward,” is stepping into (and most likely out of) Slave Naevia’s robes on season two of Starz’ hit series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand.”
