Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for Annabelle: Creation, a James Wan produced sequel to the original Conjuring spinoff that saw the demonically possessed doll wreck havoc on a young family in 1969 Los Angeles.
Set for release May 19, 2017, the film is directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) and stars Bond girl and “Narcos” actress Stephanie Sigman as Sister Charlotte, an orphanage nun who takes refuge with her girls at a doll maker’s home when her facility is shut down.
Blumhouse has released a first trailer for Happy Death Day, a doom-loop thriller starring Jessica Rothe (La La Land) as a college student reliving her brutal murder over and over and attempting to identify her masked killer – think young-adult spin on Groundhog Day, Edge of Tomorrow, and your soul-crushing 9-to-5 life.
Joining Rothe are stunners Ruby Modine (“Shameless”), Donna Duplantier (Bad Moms), and newcomer Rachel Matthews. Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) is at the helm. Happy Death Day opens Oct. 13.
A trailer has gone online for Sony Pictures’ remake of director Joel Schumacher’s Flatliners, a 1990 sci-fi thriller about med-school students conducting near-death experiments to see what lies in the afterlife. Niels Arden Oplevscribe (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) directs from a script by Ben Ripley(The Source Code).
Flatliners stars Nina Dobrev (“Vampire Diaries”),Ellen Page (Juno), Charlotte McKinney, Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Kiersey Clemens (Neighbors 2), and Flatliners O.G. Kiefer Sutherland. The film opens Sept. 29… a good day to die!
MarVista Entertainment has set a June 20 VOD release date for Victim director Matt Eskandari’s new thriller 12 Feet Deep: Trapped Sisters, a film whose title’s ridiculousness is only eclipsed by its concept: two hot sisters trapped underneath the fiberglass cover of an Olympic-sized pool over a holiday weekend.
Alexandra Park (pictured above) and Nora-Jane Noone (The Descent) play the sisters with Diane Farr (“Californication”) and genre icon Tobin Bell (SAW) in supporting roles – could he have rigged the pool? Nah. Still very cool to see him pop up in this!
We’ve all been clamoring for a new Gremlins movie for years, but have any of us done anything about it? No. We just sat around watching sequels to Critters and Ghoulies instead. Well, now, finally, someone has stepped up to give us a new Gremlin experience!
Writer and director Ryan Bellgardt presents Gremlin – a film that, despite what its marketing materials may suggest, has nothing to do with the beloved Joe Dante-directed Gremlins, but still features a demonic creature you don’t want anyone gifting you. It releases on VOD July 11 from Uncork’d Entertainment.
Spike has released a new trailer for its upcoming horror series “The Mist.” Based on the Stephen King novella, the show follows a community tormented by supernatural forces hidden in the mist engulfing their small town on the wake of a horrible crime.
The show features 10 one-hour episodes and premieres June 22.
Synopsis reads:
THE MIST centers around a small town family that is torn apart by a brutal crime. As they deal with the fallout an eerie mist rolls in, suddenly cutting them off from the rest of the world and, in some cases, each other.
Family, friends and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.
Ask most horror fans about the 2007 French slasher Inside and they’ll rant and rave how it’s one of the best horror films ever made. It’s not. Not even close. Sure, if you’re a gore hound, there’s plenty to get you off. The plot is good too – widowed mom-to-be tormented by psycho-bitch out to take her unborn child – but the execution is terrible.

Teresa Palmer (Lights Out) goes nude in director Cate Shortland’s movie adaptation of novelist Melanie Joosten’sabduction thriller The Berlin Syndrome, now playing in selected theaters. Palmer plays an Australian photographer abducted by a sexual predator while vacationing in Berlin.
Max Riemelt (“Sense8”) plays the abductor, a seemingly affable high school teacher traumatized by the abandonment of his mother who kidnaps female tourists to keep in his apartment for a sick and emotionally twisted girlfriend experience. Palmer’s character finds herself trapped for months when she falls for his act.
Palmer is coming off Warner Bros. creepy, white-knuckle hit Lights Out. She can also be seen in Takashi Shimizu’s The Grudge 2, Jonathan Levine’s romantic zombie comedy Warm Bodies, and D.J. Caruso’s I Am Number Four.
Salma Hayek remains one of Hollywood’s most beautiful women and her iconic From Dusk Till Dawn scene as stripping serpent queen Santanico Pandemonium can only be described as stroker’s cocaine. Hayek reminisced with Yahoo about getting the gig, fear of snakes, director Robert Rodriguez and writer Quentin Tarantino.
According to Hayek, the part came about when Rodriguez was auditioning strippers for a brief part in his and Tarantino’s Four Rooms and, well, just couldn’t find a good one! Hayek came to the rescue despite her hesitation to strip on camera. Tarantino saw the footage and wrote the Satanico Pandemonium role for Hayek.
The whole story is fun and sexy to hear Hayek tell it, but if you’ve seen the Four Rooms scene, you know Rodriguez’s mom could have done it and he and Tarantino just wanted to get Hayek to strip!
An official trailer for season seven of HBO’s award-winning fantasy series “Game of Thrones” is online. The tease begins with Cersei Lannister, now Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, assessing the threats descending upon her throne in the Great War and defiantly proclaiming victory over all who stand in her way.
What follows are shots of Daenerys Targaryen and her army of Unsullied, Dothraki, and dragons kicking Lannister butt. King of the North Jon Snow is also on the move and likely to discover he’s of Targaryen/Stark blood. Tyrion Lanister, Theon Greyjoy, and Sansa Stark look worried, the Mountain not so much.
