Chucky Frees the Nipple in ‘Cult of Chucky’

Chucky

Universal Home Entertainment has set an Oct. 3 home video release date for Cult of Chucky, the sixth sequel in its Child’s Play franchise. The film picks up after the events of 2013’s Curse of Chunky and finds its protagonist, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif), locked away in an asylum for the criminally insane, convinced she – not Chucky – murdered her family.

That all changes when her shrink introduces a Good Guy Doll to her therapy sessions and people start to die gruesome deaths. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky’s first owner, is now grown up and determined to help Nica… if he can get past Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), Chucky’s cursed bride. Child’s Play creator and series writer Don Mancini directs with Brad Dourif once again providing the voice of Chucky.

Willem Dafoe Hits the Right ‘Death Note’

ryuk-death-note

While there is no need to apply monster makeup or use effects to make Willem Dafoe scary, his role in Adam Wingard’s (You’re Next) adaptation of the Japanese manga Death Note has him looking absolutely frightening – even more so than his portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in this Snickers’ commercial.

The movie is a Netflix original and follows a douchey high school student (Nat Wolff) who comes upon a supernatural notebook that kills the people whose names he writes down and faces he envisions. He goes vigilante, ridding the world of criminals (yawn) until his ethics get compromised with the help of Dafoe’s nightmarish creature.

WTF Is Up with That Ridiculously Giant Bulldog in ‘Inhumans’

inhumans

Marvel has released a full length trailer for “Inhumans,” an eight-episode series making its debut Sept. 29 on ABC. The series centers on the Inhuman Royal Family, a race of super-humans created by aliens through experiments on primitive man.

At this point, Marvel could put out a show/comic about a family of stinking turds and it would immediately find a buyer. Jam-packed with subpar effects, melodrama, and a stupid, fake-as-fuck giant bulldog, “Inhumans” can’t possibly stay on the air. Right? A giant bulldog for God’s sake!

Karen Gillan in ‘Jumanji’ Trailer: Where’s the Sexy Sexism We Were Promised?

karen-gillan-sexy-jumanji

Because social justice warrior culture says you gotta dig chicks with dicks, but not actual chicks if they’re hot and sexy, Jumanji found itself in controversial waters earlier this year when it released an image for the film featuring stunner Karen Gillan in short-shorts and a crop top (gasp!) – never mind she’d be kicking ass alongside the Rock.

Sony has now released a full length trailer for the film, a sequel to the 1995 fantasy-adventure classic starring Robin Williams, and sure enough Gillan is holding her own opposite Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black in the rough and tumble jungle – not one shot of a sexy waterfall shower to be seen!

To boot, hot up-and-comer Madison Iseman (Tales of Halloween) is transformed into Black’s portly, middle-aged professor avatar once the movie’s plot kicks in: four high school kids sucked into an old magical video game must survive it to the end as the characters they’ve chosen to play.

So, yeah, not much on the frivolous thrills side, but still looks fun.

Jessica Parker Kennedy

“Black Sails” stunner Jessica Parker Kennedy is set to star in the horror-comedy Deep Murder for first-time feature director and “Funny or Die” alum Nick Corirossi. The film follows a group of porn stars as they attempt to survive the masked killer hunting them down one by one.

Deep Murder aims to present a Pleasantville-inspired story set in the world of porn in which life-and-death events force change among its archetypal characters, helping them evolve from sex-crazed tropes into real people. Kennedy plays Babysitter.

Best known for playing lezzie-loving prostitute Max on Treasure Island prequel series “Black Sails,” Kennedy has held roles in a handful of genre offerings including the short-lived witch series “The Secret Circle,” Carlton Cuse’s “Colony,” Andrew Niccol’s “In Time,” and brilliantly titled viral thriller Bad Meat.

teri-reeves-leggy

“Chicago Fire” and “Once Upon a Time” stunner Teri Reeves stars in Island Zero, an indie frightener written by “Rizzoli & Isles” scribe Tess Gerritsen and marking the feature film debut of her son and documentarian Josh Gerritsen.

Synopsis reads:

Inhabitants of a fishing island off the coast of Maine find themselves mysteriously cut off from the outside world after the ferry suddenly stops coming. All the phones have gone dead and every boat sent to the mainland fails to return. When dead bodies turn up along the water’s edge, the hardy band of survivors must find out who, or what, is killing them.

No details on Reeves character yet, but we’re hoping she’s cast as a sexy island resident and not one of the dead bodies at the water’s edge. Reeves is best known for playing doomed Dr. Hallie Thomas on NBC’s “Chicago Fire” and Wizard of OZ protagonist Dorothy Gale on ABC’s fairy tale series “Once Upon a Time,” in which she hooks up with Meghan Ory’s Red Riding Hood for some hot lesbian loving.

‘Jigsaw’ Takes Halloween!

jigsaw-saw-8

Lionsgate announced today Jigsaw as the official title of its upcoming SAW reboot, in theaters this Halloween after a seven year hiatus. Michael and Peter Spierig (Daybreakers) helmed the sequel, penned by Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg (Piranha 3D) and creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell.

No official synopsis yet, but Jigsaw is said to continue and expand on its gruesome mythology with a twisted new tale that possibly sees the return of John Kramer and his traps. Games begin Oct. 27.

Named the Most Successful Horror Movie Series of all time by Guinness World Records in 2010, SAW spawned six sequels and earned more than $870 million worldwide. SAW launched director Wan’s career and gave horror one of its most memorable villains in Tobin Bell’s John “Jigsaw” Kramer.
