Kate Beckinsale Is a Little Naked & a Lot Pissed in ‘Underworld: Awakening’

Kate-Beckinsale-Nude-Underworld-4

Sony Screen Gems has released the first trailer for director Len Wiseman’s Underworld: Awakening. From the looks of it, all major plot points are teased: Kate Beckinsale in the nude, Kate Beckinsale in skintight vinyl, Kate Beckinsale kicking ass.

Peep it:

There is one little storyline missing from the trailer. According to the film’s synopsis, Selene (Beckinsale) awakens from a 12-year coma to discover that she has a 14-year-old daughter. My guess is that, for now, the studio wants to focus on Beckinsale’s return to the franchise and the film’s signature vamps vs. lycans action.

But, don’t fret. I’m sure a second trailer will show Selene taking on the challenges of being a single mom. We’ll watch as she seeks out a second job to supplement her death dealer income, puts werewolf killing on the back-burner to attend her daughter’s soccer games, and has her heart broken every time a guy dumps her because she has a kid … all set to the music of Dido.

Underworld: Awakening arrives in theaters on Jan. 20, 2012.

Rachel Nichols is starring in Summit Entertainment’s I, Alex Cross, a reboot of the Alex Cross franchise first launched by Paramount Pictures in 1997 (Kiss the Girls). Nichols will play a large-breasted detective who gets romantically involved with Cross’ partner Tommy Kane.

She tells ComingSoon:

I’m very excited. I don’t think anyone has ever been as excited as I am about going to Detroit and Cleveland… I get a gun! I’m a detective and I’m happy to get a gun back. No more swords.

It’s based on the Alex Cross series from James Patterson, but it’s not based on the book, ‘I, Alex Cross.’

I, Alex Cross is directed by Rob Cohen (The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor) and costars Matthew Fox as serial killer Michael “The Butcher of Sligo” Sullivan, John C. McGinley as Police Chief Richard Brookwell, Ed Burns as Det. Tommy Kane, and Tyler Perry as Alex Cross-dresser.

Nichols creds include Platinum Dunes 2005 Amityville Horror remake, Summit Entertainment’s P2 (her first starring role), and Paramount’s G.I. Joe. She also starred as black-ops agent Rachel Gibson on the final season of J.J. Abrams’ “Alias” and played FBI Agent Ashley Seager on the hit CBS series “Criminal Minds.”

Nichols will be seen this weekend in director Marcus Nispel’s eagerly anticipated Conan reboot. She plays a large-breasted warrior monk who gets into what promises to be an intense cat-fight with costar Rose McGowan’s medium-breasted evil witch character.

Actress Jessy Schram will step into the role of Cinderella on ABC Studios’ new fairytale themed series “Once Upon a Time.” The pretty 25-year-old joins a cast that includes Jennifer Morrison as protagonist Emma Swan, Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming, Lana Parilla as the Evil Queen, and Paula Marshall as wicked fairy godmother Malificent.

Created by “LOST” executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, “Once Upon a Time” follows Emma Swan, the likely daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, as she’s beckoned to the small New England town of Storybrooke to help free it from an Evil Queen’s curse. The series is set to premiere on October 23.

Schram’s creds include appearances on TV shows “Veronica Mars,” “Medium,” “Ghost Whisperer,” and “CSI.” She is best known, however, as a regular on TNT’s new Steven Spielberg-produced alien invasion series “Falling Skies.”

You’ll Dig Kate Bosworth in ‘Straw Dogs’

Kate-Bosworth-Shorts-Straw-Dogs

Posted here are images of Kate Bosworth from her upcoming thriller Straw Dogs, a Rob Lurie-directed remake of Sam Peckinpah’s controversial 1971 home-invasion drama that starred Dustin Hoffman and Susan George as a married couple terrorized by rape-happy rapscallions in the London countryside.

Bosworth plays Amy Sumner in the redo, a Hollywood actress who moves back South with her scrawny screenwriter husband only to find that her hillbilly ex still has feelings for her vagina. The 28-year-old stunner, rumored to have gone nude, promises that the film is “not watered down in the parts that people are going to be curious about.”

Sony Screen Gems unleashes Straw Dogs on Sept. 16.

Milla Jovovich Fears the ‘Faces in the Crowd’

Milla Jovovich-Ripped-Bikini

An international trailer for Millennium Entertainment’s upcoming serial killer frightener Faces in the Crowd has hit the web. The film stars Milla Jovovich as an elementary school teacher who can’t remember anyone’s face, even those closest to her, after she wakes up from a three day bender of booze and Salsa Verde Dorritos … wait a minute … that was me.

In this movie, Jovovich’s character isn’t a drunk; she suffers from prosopagnosia (face blindness), a neurological disorder caused by a lesion of the temporal lobe, the part of the brain that allows us to remember people’s faces. She acquires this condition after suffering a brain injury while attempting to escape a homicidal maniac.

Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger Talks ‘Men in Black 3-D’

nicole-scherzinger-sexy-mib-3

Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger may not get jiggy with Will Smith in director/producer Barry Sonnenfeld’s upcoming Men in Black 3-D, but she  does get to rock some serious hardware in the film’s opener. The gorgeous 33-year-old Hawaiian-born starlet plays a leather-clad vixen with a rocket launcher.

She tells Crave:

It was amazing. I’ve finished shooting it already. I have a cameo and I open the movie … I actually went to college for theater so it’s nice to be able to utilize some of those chops finally. I really want to get back into a film and acting.

She’s [the character] actually a woman in black and leather—a woman in black leather. In some of the scenes I’m walking with some serious hardcore rocket launcher. It’s crazy. I was playing my music in my head, almost like I was doing a music video.

I had to create a whole other character for this role. In order to do that I had to pull from the rock star inside of me and create this whole diva, like this whole action bad girl kind of character.

Wow, that’s crazy. When I was employed, I also played music in my head and pretended that I was doing a music video. Sadly, the pyro and dancing hookers I brought along didn’t go over too well with the bosses. It’s cool though. I broke my air guitar on their desk before security escorted me out (Rock & Roll!).

Men in Black 3-D finds Will Smith’s Agent J heading back in time to save the universe from an alien threat with the help of a young version of Tommy Lee Jones’ Agent K, portrayed by James Brolin. Sony will release the sequel on May 25th, 2012.

Review: Stuart Gordon Gives Life to ‘Re-Animator: The Musical’

Re-Animator-Musical

For the past few months, I had heard stories about an unholy experiment taking place at the Steve Allen Theater in Los Angeles. From the sounds of it, horror legend Stuart Gordon, director of indie-frighteners From Beyond, The Pit and the Pendulum, Dolls, and Fortress, had discovered a formula that would revive Re-Animator, his renowned 1985 feature film debut, as an onstage musical.

I was certain the tales were untrue. To tinker with one of horror’s most beloved works would be madness. For starters, who could possibly match Jeffrey Combs’ performance as Herbert West in the original? What would happen to the gore? How would the film’s outrageous “head” scene play out on the stage? There was only one way to find out.

The Steve Allen Theater is an intimate venue with a small stage. Mrs. Muertos and I took our seats just behind the “splatter zone,” a designated area for those who prefer a more interactive experience (ponchos are available upon request, but I’m told the blood doesn’t stain). Gordon, who directs the musical, soon took to the stage and graciously welcomed everyone to the show.

Re-Animator-Musical-Rachel-Avery

Re-Animator, for those unfamiliar with Gordon’s film and the H.P. Lovecraft story it’s based on (“Herbert West: Re-Animator”), follows the grisly havoc caused by med school students Herbert West and Dan Cain after they set out to test West’s reanimating serum on human corpses. Things go from frying pan to fire when West’s nemesis Dr. Hill, a shameless plagiarist and pervert, attempts to steal his work.

Graham Skipper owns the role of Herbert West, shifting  effortlessly between the character’s bratty narcissism and psychotic rage. That those emotions are expressed through song makes West appear all the more mad, especially during the numbers “I Give Life” and “Basement,” the latter sung by West as he responds to Cain’s ad for a roommate.

Chris L. McKenna as the affable Dan Cain and Rachel Avery (whom some may recognize from her appearances on HBO’s “Big Love”) as Dan’s sexy, but wholesome, fiance Megan Halsey project a playful chemistry that shines during a hilarious bedroom duet in which they can’t seem to agree on wedding plans (She’s thinking grand; he’s favoring City Hall).

Re-Animator-Dan-Cain-Megan

Of course, wedding bliss is not in the couple’s future. Megan is betrayed by Dan when he takes interest in West’s work despite her protests. She is later sexually accosted by a headless Dr. Hill, played with perverse glee by international opera singer Jesse Merlin. The girl’s luck only worsens from there.

Reunited with original Re-Animator writers Dennis Paoli and William J. Norris, and FX artists John Buechler and Anthony Doublin, and aided by Mark Nutter’s brilliant maniacal score and gut-busting lyrics, Gordon has not only delivered a love letter—or, perhaps, singing telegram—to Re-Animator fans, but has also created what could very well be the next Rocky Horror Show (I am selfishly hoping it stays in LA).

“Re-Animator: The Musical” plays it final shows this weekend at the Steve Allen Theater located at 4773 Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-800-595-4TIX (595-4849) or online here.

‘Scrubs’ Funnyman John C. McGinley Joins ‘I, Alex Cross’

John-C-McGinley-I-Alex-Cross

“Scrubs” star John C. McGinley is the latest to join the eclectic cast of director Rob Cohen’s (The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor) I, Alex Cross, an adaptation of the James Patterson novel and a reboot of the Alex Cross franchise which starred Morgan Freeman in Paramount Pictures’ Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider.

McGinley will play police chief Richard Brookwell, a verbose and short-tempered man who is constantly annoyed by man-child and daydreamer J.D. at Sacred Heart Hospital. Costars includes Matthew Fox (“LOST”), Jean Reno (The Professional), Ed Burns (One Missed Call), and Tyler Perry as Alex Cross-dresser.

The funnyman’s genre creds include David Fincher’s Seven, James Mangold’s awesome psych-thriller Identity, the Ice T vehicle Surviving the Game, Highlander II, and Hear No Evil with Marlee Matlin (Does that chick ever do non-deaf roles? Talk about comfort zone. Jeez).

I, Alex Cross goes into production this month in Cleveland.

Kitten Got Claws: Anne Hathaway Responds to Criticism Over Catwoman Costume!

Anne-Hathaway-Catwoman-Pic

All the good will Anne Hathaway’s nude breasts have built over the years with male moviegoers is now hanging on a thread thanks to Warner Bros.’ promo shot of the 28-year-old star in her not-so-sexy Dark Knight Rises Catwoman getup (pictured above).

Not one to let the bat studio ruin her rep, Hathaway quickly responded to the negative feedback by assuring fan boys that there is a lot more to the suit than was revealed in the pic.

She tells MTV:

I was not going to admit it: I asked someone to send me a few reactions [to the photo]. What I am happy to say is, if you didn’t like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do. And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste.

Hey, if the catsuit can be unzipped and taken off, then that’s all I need to see it do (Yeah! Looks for a high-five).

The Dark Knight is the final chapter in Christopher Nolan’s Batman triology. The film stars Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Nestor Carbonell and Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader.

It arrives in theaters on July 20, 2012.

Kirsten Dunst Knows You Like Big Boobs!

kirsten-dunst-nude-melancholia

Perhaps it’s to salvage damage done by director Lars von Trier’s gaffe at this year’s Cannes Film Festival or, maybe, it’s the loss of her sweet Spiderman gig, but Kirsten Dunst really wants people to see her new end-of-the-world psych-drama Melancholia.

The 29-year-old actress went totally nude for the project and is making sure everyone knows. She speaks candidly about why her body is better than your(s) girlfriend’s in the September issue of  Elle magazine U.K.

She boasts:

I didn’t work out beforehand, it was all very natural. I don’t have any real body issues. I never really overeat, I shed weight in the summer, put it on in the winter and yes, I do have big boobs. People don’t realize because I cover up a lot, but they are there. Big boobs.

Budgeted at a modest $7 million, Melancholia follows a group of people as they freak the fuck out upon discovering that the earth is on a collision course with another planet. The film costars Keifer Sutherland (Mirrors), Charlotte Gainsbourg (Antichrist), Udo Kier (Halloween), Charlotte Rampling (Never Let Me Go), Alexander Skarsgaard (“True Blood”), and Stellan Skarsgaard (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).

Melancholia arrives in theaters on Nov. 4.
