20090407GG023_Star_Trek_XI_

Hollywood heavyweight J.J. Abrams is ready to show the world that no one’s got bigger midi-chlorian-filled balls than him. The Bad Robot founder has agreed to direct Star Wars: Episode VII for Disney, owners of LucasFilm LTD since purchasing the company in October for $4.05 billion in stocks and cash.

Disney confirmed the news Friday. Abrams, who had been courted for the project by Lucasfilm Chief Kathleen Kennedy since its announcement, will direct from a script by Michael Arndt (Oblivion). Empire Strikes Back screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan is consulting on the project.

George Lucas said:

I’ve consistently been impressed with J.J. as a filmmaker and storyteller.  He’s an ideal choice to direct the new Star Wars film and the legacy couldn’t be in better hands.

Abrams is the co-creator of the TV series “LOST,” “Fringe,” “Person of Interest,” and “Revolution.” He produced Cloverfiled and co-produced and directed Paramount Pictures’ Star Trek reboot and the Spielberg collaboration Super 8.

Sara-Snook-Ghosts-

Lionsgate has set a Jan. 10, 2014 release date for Blumhouse Productions’ Ghosts (previously titled Jessabelle), a terrifying new frightener from director Kevin Greuter (SAW VI, VII) and screenwriter Robert Ben Garant (“Reno 911,” Night at the Museum), reports BloodyDisgusting.com.

Redhead Sara Snook (pictured) toplines the film as Jessie, a wheelchair-bound widow forced to live with her father in his decrepit Louisiana manor while she heals. In the house, she discovers video tapes made long ago by her deceased mother, warning her of an evil out to consume her.

Ghosts co-stars Joelle Carter (“Justified”) as Jessie’s mother, Mark Webber as a childhood friend and stunner Amber Stevens (“Greek”).

Clatto spies who caught early screenings of Ghosts describe the film as genuinely creepy and scary, which is to be expected from Blumhouse, producers of Insidious, Sinister, the upcoming Dark Skies and the Paranormal Activity franchise.

Tanit Phoenix Goes Nude in ‘Death Race 3: Inferno’

Tanit-Phoenix-Nude

Death Race 3: Inferno is available today on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Set in South Africa, the latest entry in the successfully rebooted franchise finds convict Carl “Frankenstein” Lucas racing to the death in the Kalahari Desert.

Roel Reine (Death Race 2) returns to the helm, as do stars Danny Trejo, Luke Goss, Robin Shou, Ving Rhames and South African stunner Tanit Phoenix, going nude in a shower scene that may seem frivolous to women not as pretty as she, but which serves as a metaphor for the frailties of the human condition.

The original Death Race 2000 was produced by Roger Corman in 1975 and starred chronic masturbator David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone. The film was remade by director Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil: Afterlife) in 2008 with Jason Statham in the driver’s seat. The series has become a hit on home video.

So… Who Wants to See Diora Baird’s Nude 32-E’s as a 19-yo Teen?

diora-baird-topless-32e

Ex-Playboy model Diora Baird made her horror debut in 2006 with the Platinum Dunes’ prequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. She has since starred in the horror-comedy Stan Helsing, Ghost House Pictures’ 30 Days of Night: Dark Days and Parallel Media’s remake of Night of the Demons.

Baird also appeared in After Dark Films’ intense, butt-cheek clenching cat-&-mouse thriller Transit and the asylum-themed mystery Riddle. She also made Clatto’s esteemed list of The 20 Hottest Women Working in Horror and Sci-Fi.

Why are we telling you this? Because we need to fill up space before we can praise Egotastic for the string of topless photos featuring Baird when she was 19-years-old. They were shot by famed fashion photographer and alleged pervert Terry Richardson.

Peep It: First ‘Kick Ass 2’ Image!

Kick-Ass-2

Posted above is the first official image from Kick Ass 2, the surprise sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s 2010 adaptation of the Marvel/Icon comic about costumed crime fighters with no special powers. Jeff Wadlow (Cry Wolf, Never Back Down) is directing for Universal Pictures.

Entertainment Weekly scored the image which finds new superhero Kick Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) meeting up with Col. Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey) and his dog Sophia by a food cart. The film opens in theaters on June 28.

The film’s synopsis reads:

After Kick-Ass’ insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes, our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist—reborn as The Mother Fucker—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl can prevent their annihilation.

When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy.

Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes.

Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world’s first super villain, The Mother Fucker, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad.

Reprising their Kick Ass roles in the sequel are Chloe Grace Moretz as Hit Girl, Nicolas Cage as Big Daddy, Clark Duke as Marty/Battle Guy, Christopher Mintz-Plasse s Red Mist/Mother Fucker and the very hot Lyndsy Fonseca as Kick Ass’ sweetheart Katie Deauxma.

In addition to Carrey, new faces include John Leguizamo (The Happening) as Javier, Donald Faison (“Scrubs”) as Dr. Gravity, Morris Chestnut (The Call) as Sergeant Marcus Williams, Russian bodybuilder Olga Kurkulina as Mother Russia and sexy redhead Lindy Booth (Wrong Turn) as Night Bitch.

Finally… A Date Movie for Horror Fans: ‘kink’

Kink-porn-poster

If the first hour of Zero Dark Thirty left you feeling a tad randy, you may want to check out producer James Franco’s kink, a documentary on fetish porn site Kink.com. The film, which held its world premiere on Saturday at the Sundance Film Festival, is described as a story off sex, submission and big business.

While none of that may seem to scream horror, those familiar with the San Francisco-based site (i.e. you’re significant other) know that its themes are very much akin to those found in horror, namely the abduction thrillers and the rape-and-revenge flicks (think I Spit On Your Grave without the shotgun to the anus rig).

In other words: a great date-night movie!
