During Friday’s Iron Man 2 press junket in Los Angeles, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that a spin-off film featuring Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow character is “definitely possible.”
Unfortunately, my fear of black security guards busy schedule kept me from crashing attending the event so I could not gauge Johansson’s reaction to the announcement. However, my sources (you know them as Google) say the 25-year-old stunner, despite not being a fan of superhero movies, is flying high over her involvement in Iron Man 2.
She rambled:
I’ve never been a huge fan of this genre really and I think that’s because it was always sort of one note and very kind of explosive. I think because Gwyneth [Paltrow] and I are able to sort of be the brains behind the operation in some aspect there’s kind of a happy medium there that adds to the charm and charisma of the finished product.
It’s oddly kind of old fashioned actually in the best sense of the word. These characters are like those fabulous femme fatales of the kind of golden age of Hollywood, that Bette Davis more than the Jane Mansfield which I think is so much more dynamic to watch.
Johansson is also said to be under contract to star in Marvel’s highly anticipated all-star superhero spectacle The Avengers.
