Move over Dexter, there’s a new sociopath heading to cable TV.
American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis is adapting Jason Starr’s 2007 stalker novel The Follower as a serial for HBO and Lionsgate TV. The series will take a satirical look at the romantic lives of New Yorkers in their twenties through the eyes of Peter Wells, an affluent, emotionally dysfunctional stalker with homicidal tendencies. Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity) is also on board as an executive producer.
Jason Starr is the author of such hard-boiled thrillers as Panic Attack, Cold Caller, Lights Out, and Fake I.D. To read about Starr and his work, check out his interview with e-zine Hard Feelings.
