Cameras are set to roll May 20 on Bryan Bertino’s The Strangers 2, the long gestating sequel to Bertino’s terrifying 2008 home invasion classic. Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) is at the helm with a script penned by Bertino and Ben Ketai (30 Days of Night: Dark Days).
Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men”) stars as the immensely busty matriarch of a family stranded at an abandoned trailer park and tormented by masked killers during a road trip gone terribly wrong. Lewis Pullman (Aftermath) plays her husband and Bailee Madison (“Trophy Wife”) is their flat chested daughter.
Hendrick’s is coming off French director Gilles Paquet-Brenner’s English-language debut Dark Places, an adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s best selling 2009 novel about a woman doubtful of the testimony she gave as a child to put her brother away for murder, and Nicolas Refn’s cannibal cat-walk thriller Neon Demon.
