Katee Sackhoff to Star in Vin Diesel’s ‘Riddick’-ulous Sequel!

Katee-Sackhoff-Riddick

“Battlestar Galactica” starlet Katee Sackhoff has scored the female lead in Vin Diesel’s Riddick, the third entry in the David Twohy directed sci-fi franchise that includes 2000’s Pitch Black and 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick.

Riddick’s terribly written synopsis reads:

Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before.

Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge.

With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

Deadline reports that Sackhoff will play Dahl, a Nordic mercenary out to cash in on Riddick’s hide. Also on board for the sequel are greasy-looking, but awesome, career-villain Jordi Molla (Colombiana) as bad guy Santana and Karl Urban (Dredd), reprising his role as Lord Vakko.

Sackhoff’s genre creds include Halloween: Resurrection (her horror movie debut), White Noise 2: The Light, Fox Family’s “The Fearing Mind,” and NBC’s short-lived series “The Bionic Woman.” She is best known, however, for her portrayal of cocky fighter pilot Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on Syfy’s “Battlestar Galactica.”

The 31-year-old starlet will next be seen in TV producer/director Shawn Pillar’s feature debut Sexy Evil Genius and Lionsgate’s The Haunting in Georgia, a sequel to their 2009 sleeper-hit The Haunting in Connecticut. Sackhoff can also be heard as the voice of Mandalorian Bo-Katan on Cartoon Network’s “The Clone Wars.”
