Pierce Brosnan (Percy Jackson & the Olympians) and Annabeth Gish (pictured) are set to star in Sony Pictures Televison’s small-screen adaptation of the Stephen King bestseller “Bag of Bones.” The four-hour miniseries will air on A&E over two nights.
The synopsis reads:
Mike Noonan (Brosnan) is unable to stop grieving after the sudden death of his wife, Jo (Gish). A dream inspires him to return to the couple’s lakeside retreat in western Maine, where he becomes involved in a custody battle between the daughter of an attractive young widow and the child’s enormously wealthy grandfather while dealing with mysterious ghostly visitations, ever-escalating nightmares, and the realization that his late wife still has something to tell him.
Sci-fi fans may recognize Gish as FBI agent Monica Reyes from the eighth and ninth seasons of “The X-Files.” The 40-year-old actress also starred as the mysterious Lita on ABC’s short-lived series “FlashForward.”
Bag of Bones is directed by Mick Garris (The Fly II) from a script by Matt Venne (Mirrors 2). Production on the show is set to begin next month in Nova Scotia, Canada.
