Universal has set an April 11 release date for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes’ Drop, starring Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) as a hot widowed milf on a first date with a seemingly wonderful man that someone wants her to kill.

Making things more horrifying for Fahy is that the person dropping messages on her phone to murder her date is also threatening to kill her young son if she doesn’t comply.

Drop is directed by Christopher Landon, whose helmed the hit frighteners Happy Death Day, Happy Death Day 2U, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, and the underrated gem Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse. Fantasy Island and Truth or Dare writers Jillian Jacobs and Christopher Roach penned the script.
