Since topping Clatto’s list for Best Nude Acting In Horror 2024, superstar Demi Moore has been on a gravy train with biscuit wheels. Her committed, heartbreaking, and impactful full-frontal performance in The Substance won her a Golden Globe earlier this month and has now scored her an Oscar nomination.

Both the Golden Globe win and Oscar nomination are career firsts for Moore, whose last nude acting role was 1996’s much maligned and masturbated to comedy Striptease.

Moore said in a statement:

Being nominated for an Oscar is an incredible honor and these last few months have been beyond my wildest dreams. Truly there are no words to fully express my joy and overwhelming gratitude for this recognition. Not only for me but for what this film represents. I am deeply humbled.

The Substance stars Moore as an aging starlet who regains her youthful beauty when she uses a black market drug to spawn a younger version of herself (Margaret Qualley). The rub is both identities must swap consciousness every seven days. Things go bonkers when the gilf persona grows jealous of her gorgeous younger self and her younger self longs to party every night at her older body’s expense.

The Substance, which earned the top spot on Clatto’s esteemed list for The 10 Sexiest Horror Films Of 2024, is also nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Makeup & Hairstyling (we hope Moore wasn’t sporting a merkin during her scenes, but if she did, it was Oscar-worthily groomed).
