Universal Pictures has set a June 27, 2025 release date for M3GAN 2.0, a sequel to its blockbuster thriller about a murderous, AI-powered doll designed to be a companion for unlovable kids so parental figures can tune them out guilt free.

Posted above is our first look at M3GAN 2.0, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. The image isn’t very exciting. M3GAN wears a blue coat she could have raided from Annabelle’s closet. Here’s hoping they go more Malibu Barbie in the film.

Director Gerard Johnstone teases:

Part of the fun of having a doll is being able to play dress-up. We had a couple of looks in the first film, but I wanted 10 different looks for M3GAN. For the sequel, I felt like here’s a chance to do that.
