Maika Monroe is set to star in Brides, a woke vampire thriller from writer/director Chloe Okuno (Watcher) and Neon. Monroe plays an emotionally unstable wife who not only ruins her husband’s vacation to Italy but also brings havoc to a count and his vampire wives with her “feminist chaos.”

Monroe is coming off the satanic spook-show Longlegs and will play the hot, vengeful nanny in the 20th Century Studios remake of the classic 90s thriller, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle. She first caught horror fans’ interest in 2014’s It Follows, a contender on Clatto’s list for the 10 Sexiest Horror Movies of 2015.

Monroe has also starred in such notable fare as Roland Emmerich’s ID4 sequel Independence Day: Resurgence, Neil Jordan’s cougar/cub nightmare Greta, underrated survival thriller Significant Other. and Okuno’s Watcher.
