The first wave of movies to be screened at the 17th annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival has been revealed. Set to run Oct. 10 – 19 at the TCL Chinese 6 Theater in Hollywood, CA, the announced lineup features the North American premiere of Leatherface, a prequel to 1974’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Dominic Monaghan, of groundbreaking ABC series “LOST” and Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, serves as this year’s Screamfest ambassador.
Monaghan said:
I am extremely honored to serve as this year’s Screamfest ambassador. I applaud Screamfest and its Founder and Festival Director Rachel Belofsky for embracing the work of filmmakers and actors in the horror genre. I’m a big fan of this space, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of a fest that truly acknowledges unique and creative work.

Screamfest is the biggest and longest-running horror film festival in the U.S. The show is a star-studded event where actors and directors talk horror with each other and the public. Festival badges are now available for purchase at the Screamfest website.
