Felicity Jones is set to star alongside Tom Hanks in Imagine Entertainment’s Inferno, a big screen adaptation of Dan Brown’s fourth Robert Langdon novel. A sequel to 2006’s The Da Vinci Code and 2009’s Angels & Demons, Inferno is slated for release Oct. 14, 2016.
Jones will play Dr. Sienna Brooks in the Ron Howard-directed film. Adapted by David Koepp (Jurassic Park), Inferno finds Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon suffering from amnesia in Italy and counting on Dr. Brooks to help him regain his memories to save the world from a plague inspired by Dante’s “Inferno.”
Jones is coming off the Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything, for which she is nominated for an Oscar, and Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The Langdon adaptations have earned over $1.24 billion in worldwide gross.
