Jessica Biel and Imogen Poots are set to star in Sierra Pictures’ adaptation of “Talented Mr. Ripley” author Patricia Highsmith’s “The Blunderer.” Andy Goddard (“Downton Abbey”) directs the psychological thriller, which costars Patrick Wilson (Insidious) and Toby Jones (The Girl).
Set in 1960’s New York, “The Blunderer” tells the story of a successful architect (Wilson) married to a beautiful woman (Biel) whose obsession for another woman (Poots) and fascination with an unsolved murder gets him into hot water with his wife and a killer on the loose (Jones).
Biel, who made her horror debut in the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, is coming off a string of genre offerings including abduction thriller The Tall Man, the psychological drama The Truth About Emmanuel, the Hitchcock biopic, and the 2012 remake Total Recall.
Poots made her feature film debut at the age of 16 in the Wachowski’s V for Vendetta, and has starred in the zombie frightener 28 Weeks Later, Neil Marshall’s Centurion, Hideo Nakata’s Chatroom, and the 2011 remake Fright Night.
