Brain Damage Films has set a Feb. 4 DVD and VOD release date for Slaughter Daughter. The indie slasher is described by the filmmakers as the “heartwarming tale of a psychotic daughter who teams up with a jailed murderer to slay her mother on her wedding day.”
Slaughter Daughter features an interesting cast: Leesa Towland (Return to Nuke ‘Em High Vol. 1), Nicola Fiore (Ms. Cannibal Holocaust), Ruby Larocca (Call Girl of Cthulhu), and Tim Dax, the facially-tatted gay porn actor who inadvertently starred in the anti-Islamic YouTube short The Innocence of Muslims.
The Innocence of Muslims portrayed the Muslim prophet Muhammad as a hypersexual child molester. The film was said to have provoked the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Libya that left U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead on Sept 11. That turned out to be bullshit.
Voltage Pictures has released a trailer for Terry Gilliam’s The Zero Theorem, an Orwellian-based sci-fi drama about a computer geek named Qohen Leth (Christoph Waltz), hired by a mysterious corporate figure (Matt Damon) to solve a mathematical formula that would reveal life’s meaning.
Judging by the trailer, The Zero Theorem is pure gonzo madness that looks unwatchable unless you’re tripping on goof-balls. It does, however, feature French starlet Melanie Thierry (Babylon A.D.) prancing around as a seductive and slutty attired nurse.
Robert Rodriguez’s El Rey Network has released a trailer for “From Dusk Till Dawn,” a 10 episode re-imagining of the 1996 film about fugitive brothers Seth and Richie Gecko, played here by D.J. Cotrona (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and Zane Holtz (Vampires Suck), trapped by vampire strippers while on the lam in Mexico.
The abducted Fuller family is played by Robert Patrick (Terminator 2) as preacher and patriarch Jacob, Madison Davenport (Noah) as his teen daughter Kate, and Brandon Soo Hoo (Ender’s Game) as adopted son Scott.
Rounding out the cast are Don Johnson as Sheriff Earl McGraw, Adrianne Palicki as a woman from Seth Gecko’s past, Lane Garrison (”Prison Break”) as Benny’s World of Liquor clerk Pete, and Eiza González as Titty Twister stripper and vampire-queen Santánico Pandemonium.
Disney has released a new trailer for Maleficent, a re-imagining of the Sleeping Beauty tale told from the perspective of the iconic villainess, played by gorgeous Angelina Jolie. Elle Fanning co-stars as Aurora, the sleepiest of them all.
Set to Lana Del Rey’s haunting “Once Upon a Dream,” the trailer shows off Maleficent’s creepy lair, demonic army, and sinister, but oh-so-sexy, smile. Joli’s casting as Maleficent is reason enough to catch the film when it opens May 30 (that gives you 4-months to learn how to pronounce Maleficent).
AMC has released a four-minute featurette for the mid-season premiere of “The Walking Dead.” The video includes interviews with creator Robert Kirkman and stars Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), and Danai Gurira (Michonne).
“The Walking Dead” returns Feb. 9.

Margot Robbie, the beautiful and very nude star of Martin Scorsese’s awesome Wolf of Wall Street, is set to join Christopher Pine (Star Trek) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) in Z for Zachariah, an adaptation of Robert C. O’Brien’s post apocalyptic novel from Craig Zobel (Compliance).
Robbie will play an American woman who is the sole survivor of a nuclear war up until she is visited by a stranger. No word if she’ll do full-frontal for this role, but Zobel is the director behind the awesomely pervy drama Compliance, which saw Dreama Walker (“Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23”) make her nude debut.
Prior to her breakthrough role as Leonardo DiCaprio’s wife in Wolf of Wall Street, Robbie starred in Richard Curtis’ time-traveling rom-com About Time, on NBC’s short-lived drama “Pan Am” and in the Australian horror film I.C.U.
Radha Mitchell (Silent Hill) is set to star in Sacrifice, a cult-thriller from Flightplan writer and Stag Night director Peter A. Dowling. Based on the novel by S.J. Bolton, the film finds Mitchell playing an obstetrician who discovers under her new home the mutilated body of a woman buried shortly after giving birth.
Sacrifice will shoot in Dublin in March. Co-stars include Rupert Graves (“Sherlock Holmes”) as Mitchell’s husband and Colm Meany (“Hell on Wheels”).
Mitchell is coming off the serial killer dramas Frozen Ground and Evidence. She’s also starred in the Silent Hill franchise, the sci-fi actioners Pitch Black and Surrogates, Greg Mclean’s giant-croc thriller Rogue and 2010’s remake of George Romero’s classic viral outbreak thriller The Crazies.
Relativity has released a trailer for Blumhouse’s new ghost story Oculus… and it is creepy. Directed and co-written by Mike Flanagan (Absentia), the film stars Karen Gillan (“Dr. Who”), Brenton Thwaites (Gods of Eygpt), and Katee Sackhoff (“Battlestar Galactica”).
Oculus follows a twenty-something brother and sister (Gillan, Thwaites) duo orphaned as children after the mysterious murder of their parents. The brother was charged for the crime by authorities, but his sister still believes that a haunted antique mirror is truly responsible for their deaths.
Entertainment One Films has released a trailer for actress Jennifer Kent’s directorial debut The Babadook. The supernatural thriller stars Essie Davis (Matrix ReLoaded) as the widowed mother of an emotionally trouble six-year-old who is convinced a storybook boogeyman is out to kill them.

Katharine Isabelle will bring romance to the table on season two of NBC’s “Hannibal,” its superb, but ratings-challenged, drama chronicling the early days of Hannibal Lecter, the notorious cannibal/serial killer first introduced in the Thomas Harris novels “Red Dragon” and “Silence of the Lambs.”
Isabelle will play a lesbian named Margot, whose relationship to her serial killer twin brother has led her to Hannibal Lecter’s (Mads Mikkelsen) couch. According to TVLine, she will serve as a love interest for FBI profiler and basket case Will Graham (Hugh Dancy).
Isabelle is coming off as the lead in the Jen and Sylvia Soska’s critically acclaimed medical frightener American Mary. Her creds include the Ginger Snaps franchise, Freddy Vs. Jason, and Chris Nolan’s Insomnia.She’ll next be seen in the Soska’s See No Evil 2, a sequel to Gregory Dark’s 2006 slasher.
