Pregnant Pause: The ‘Proxy’ Trailer

Alexia Rasmussen

Along the Tracks Productions has released a trailer for Proxy, a psychological thriller from writer and director Zack Parker, starring Alexia Rasmussen (Our Idiot Brother) as Esther, a lonely and young pregnant woman brutally attacked by a hooded hooligan during her third trimester.

Esther is distraught after the assault and seeks out a support group where she befriends a woman (Alexa Havins) to whom she confesses that she never wanted to be a mother, but reveled in the affection and attention it got her from people who would otherwise never give her a second thought.

While that’s pretty fucked up, the story only gets a whole lot darker. Proxy will have its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.

shiver-still

Image Entertainment has set an Oct. 8 DVD and VOD release date for director Julian Richards’ Shiver, a serial killer drama based on Brian Harper’s grisly 1992 novel. The film stars scream queen Danielle Harris (Rob Zombie’s Halloween), Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) and John Jarratt (Wolf Creek).

Shiver tells the story of Wendy Alden (Harris), a meek young woman abducted by the head-collecting serial killer (Jarratt) she once escaped and who has now returned with the intent of torturing her slowly before chopping off her noggin while she’s still alive.

‘Twilight’s’ Ali Faulkner Is Dead Meatballs in ‘Butcher Boys’

Ali-Faulkner

Phase 4 Films has released a trailer for Duane Graves and Justin Meeks’ Butcher Boys (previously titled Boneboys), a cannibalistic thriller written by original Texas Chainsaw Massacre scribe Kim Henkel, starring Twilight Saga alumna Ali Faulkner.

Butcher Boys finds a group of friends getting mixed up with a clan of cannibals during a night on the town. Judging by the trailer, the flick looks pretty fucked up with the Butcher Boys giving the Sawyer family a run for its money. It plays selected theaters on Sept. 6.

Jaime_Pressly_Nude

“My Name Is Earl” stunner Jamie Pressly is set to star in IM Global and Open Road’s A Haunted House 2, a sequel to this year’s hit horror-comedy from Marlon Waynes and director Mike Tiddes. The film went into production on Saturday.

A Haunted House 2 finds Waynes reprising his role as Malcolm, a man whose ex-girlfriend was possessed by demons and who is now starting his life over with a new woman and her two kids. Unfortunately, things once again take a scary turn when they move into their dream home.

No word on what role Pressly plays in the film, but those of us who saw her all kinds of naked in Poison Ivy: The New Seduction would watch her pick her nose for 90-minutes… so long as it were picked in slow-mo and from various angles.

For those who care, there will be other people in this flick including Ashley Rickards (Gamer), comedian Gabriel Iglesias and original players Essence Atkins (Are We There Yet), Affion Crockett (Never Back Down) and Dave Sheridan (Devil’s Rejects).
