Twentieth Century Fox has released the first official trailer for The Wolverine, a sequel to 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In theaters July 26, the film is directed by James Mangold (Knight and Day, 3:10 to Yuma) and written by Mark Bomback (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Total Recall).

This time out, Wolverine is in modern day Japan facing off against the Silver Samurai and sexy villainess Viper. Hiroyuki Sanada (“LOST”) plays the Silver Samurai, Russian stunner Svetlana Khodchenkova ( Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy) is Viper. Hugh Jackman returns as the Wolverine.
