Canadian actress Rachelle Lefevre is set to topline “Under the Dome,” a 13-episode miniseries from producers Steven Spielberg and Stephen King. The series, based on King’s post-apocalyptic novel of the same name, debuts June 24 on CBS.
“Under the Dome” follows the havoc caused by a mysterious force field that drops over the small New England town of Chester Mill. THR reports that Lefevre will play Julia, a Chicago transplant living with her doctor husband in Chester Mill, where she works as an editor for the local newspaper.
Lefevre is best known for her portrayal of evil vampire Victoria Sutherland in Summit Entertainment’s Twilight and its first sequel Twilight: New Moon. She was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in Twilight: Eclipse after a fall-out with producers.
“Under the Dome” is directed by Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and co-stars Brittany Robertson (“Secret Circle”), Aisha Hinds (“True Blood”), Natalie Martinez (“CSI: New York”), Collin Ford (”Supernatural”), Mike Vogel (Cloverfield) and Dean Norris (“Breaking Bad”).
