Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones,” Conan) and pretty up-and-comer Merritt Patterson (The Hole) are joining Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class) in screenwriter David Hayter’s (The Scorpion King) feature film directorial debut Wolves.
Set to shoot in the Fall in Toronto, the film follows an 18-year-old orphan (Till) trying to discover the truth about his ancestry after the murder of his parents. No word on what roles Momoa and Patterson play, but it’s pretty obvious that Momoa will be Till’s love interest while Patterson plays the hairy werewolf.
Momoa, who got his start on “Baywatch: Hawaii” and “Stargate: Atlantis,” came to fame last year as Conan the Barbarian in the Conan remake and as the awesome Khal Drogo on HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” Patterson played “Pretty Girl 2” in Percy Jackson and the Olympians and can soon be seen in Joe Dante’s upcoming family-frightener The Hole.
Anchor Bay Films has released a new trailer for filmmakers Bega Jguburia and Levan Bakhia’s 247°F, a confined-space thriller that finds Christina Ulloa (“Charmed”) and Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween) trapped in a sauna with nothing but their tiny bikinis to help them.
247°F was shot in Georgia and costars Travis Van Winkle (Friday the 13), Michael Copon (The Scorpion King: Rise of a Warrior), and Tyler Mane (X-Men). The film arrives on DVD and Blu-ray on Oct. 23.
A minute-long promo trailer for iconic director Brian de Palma’s Passion, an American remake of the French erotic thriller Love Crime, has gone online. The film’s story centers on a beautiful business woman’s ill-fated manipulation and seduction of her naive protégé.
Passion stars Rachel McAdams as boss bitch Christine and Noomi Rapace as her seemingly weak assistant. Dominic Cooper (Devil’s Double), Paul Anderson (A Lonely Place to Die), Karoline Herfurth (We Are the Night) and Rainer Bock (Inglourious Basterds) round out the cast.
The Asylum has released a trailer for their very first upcoming theatrical release Hold Your Breath, starring “30 Rock” stunner Katrina Bowden as one in a group of college kids who become possessed by the spirit of an executed serial killer while driving past a cemetery.
Vera Farmiga has landed the mother of all roles. The 39-year-old Orphan star will play Norman Bates mom on A&E’s “Bates Motel,” a prequel series to Hitchcock’s Psycho from Carlton Cuse (“LOST”) and Kerry Ehrin (“Friday Night Lights”).

The series, which has been greenlit for a 10-episode first season, will focus on the relationship between Norma Louise Bates and her son Norman, giving light to all the fucked up things that led him to become a serial murderer.
Farmiga’s genre creds include bad seed thrillers Orphan and Joshua, the amputee identity disorder drama Quid Pro Quo and last year’s sci-fi sleeper hit The Source Code. She’ll next be seen in New Line’s upcoming based-on-true-events frightener The Conjuring.
A trailer for writer/director Scott Walker’s Frozen Ground has leaked online. The film is based on the true story of Robert Hansen, an Anchorage-based serial killer who murdered 24 women over a 12 year span by hunting them down like game in the Alaskan wilderness.
Frozen Ground stars John Cusack as Hansen, Nicolas Cage as the detective who brings him to justice, Radha Mitchell as his wife and Vanessa Hudgens as the teen prostitute who managed to escape from Hansen after being abducted, raped, and sexually assaulted with a hammer.
Anchor Bay Films has set an Oct. 9 DVD release date for SAW 2 director Darren Lynn Bousman’s Jersey Devil project The Barrens, starring Stephen Moyer (“True Blood”), Mia Kirshner (“The L Word”) and newcomer Allie MacDonald (House at the End of the Street).
The Barrens follows the Vinyard family as they set out to camp in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, home to the legendary cryptid known as the Jersey Devil. When Richard falls terribly ill, he begins to believe that they are being stalked by the creature.
Summit Entertainment has released a new trailer for Orphanage director Juan Antonio Bayona’s The Impossible. Set in Thailand during the 2004 tsunami that wrecked Southeast Asia, the film stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor as a vacationing married couple caught in the flood.
The Impossible is an inspirational film about the triumph of the human spirit and examines the bond that forms among people when they come together to get through a crisis and yada yada yada… Naomi Watts in a wet t-shirt for 120-minutes.

Those people are wrong.
The most horrifying film ever conceived is Above Average Productions’ Ghost Tits, a frightening tale about a man married to a woman—played by gorgeous geek goddesss Olivia Munn—with large breasts who awakens one morning to discover that her ample boobs never existed.
Ghost Tits is too disturbing to ever be produced; only a trailer is available for viewing. Be warned. It’ll freak you out.
“House of Lies” and “Heroes” starlet Dawn Olivieri has been cast in Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke’s new psycho-sexual thriller Plush. She joins a cast that includes Emily Browning (Sleeping Beauty), Xavier Samuel (Twilight Saga) and Cam Gigandet (Priest).
Plush centers on a psychologist (Gigandet) who uses his psychic abilities to free patients from their demons. Things complicate when he meets a pretty teen rock star (Browning) with similar powers. Olivieri plays Browning’s band manager.
Olivieri is best known for her role as tattooed clairvoyant Lydia on NBC’s “Heroes.” She currently plays oft naked, pill-popping management consultant Monica Talbot on Showtime’s “House of Lies.” The 31-year-old looker has also appeared on the shows “True Blood” and “Vampire Diaries.”
