The Weinstein Company has set an Aug. 30, 2013 release date for its new thriller Satanic, starring 24-year-old up-and-comer Haley Bennett. No details about the film’s plot have been released, but I’m guessing it has something to do with satan, satanism and/or parking enforcement.

Bennett made her Hollywood debut in 2007 opposite Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore in the romantic comedy Music and Lyrics. Since then she has gone on to star in a couple of horror films, though none as horrific as Music and Lyrics.

Bennett has starred in the Joe Dante-directed family-frightener The Hole and gay filmmaker Gregg Araki’s sci-fi comedy Kaboom. She is best known, however, for playing the lead role in producer Mickey Liddell’s (The Grey, The Collector) directorial debut The Haunting of Molly Hartley.

Bennett also starred in Marley & Me, which has nothing to do with horror, but dammit that pooch made me cry.
