Entertainment One has released a new trailer for Finnish director Timo Vuorensola’s Iron Sky, a sci-fi actioner that finds a Nazi army living on the moon for 70 years, waiting for the perfect moment to invade earth and finally achieve global domination.
The film’s synopsis reads:
In the last moments of World War II, a secret Nazi space program evaded destruction by fleeing to the Dark Side of the Moon. During 70 years of utter secrecy, the Nazis construct a gigantic space fortress with a massive armada of flying saucers…and now they’re coming back to claim Earth for their own.
The film stars German newcomer Julia Dietze (pictured) as Renate Richter, a Nazi officer-turned-earth sympathizer out to thwart the invasion. The project is a collaboration between Finland studios Blind Spot Pictures and Energia Productions and Australia’s 27 Films and New Holland Pictures. A North American release date has yet to be announced.
