Good and bad news for horror fans. Sexy Israeli-born actress Shirly Brener has locked the female lead in writer/director Adrian Ajai Mathai’s feature film debut Stitch. Unfortunately, leading man duties have gone to bloated human drug and D-lister Edward Furlong.
The film’s synopsis reads:
A group of 4 friends travel to a seemingly odd location on a retreat in order to mend the loss of a child of one of the couples. During their stay their reality is shattered when their subconscious enters and supernatural elements change their perceptions.
Together with an ongoing eclipse and another dimension where horror occurs, they come to realize that life is teaching them a lesson in trust, responsibility, friendship, family and forgiveness.
Stitch costars Diane Salinger (Rest Stop), Douglas Tait (Knights of Badassdom) and Tiffany Martin. The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles.
Brener, who was raised in London and Los Angeles, has played small roles in films such as the Jessica Simpson vehicle Employee of the Month, the Lindsay Lohan comedy Labor Pains, and the Al Pacino/Robert De Niro crime-actioner Righteous Kill.
Her horror creds include the serial killer flick 30 Days to Die and The Dunwich Horror opposite Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator). She also stars alongside Playboy-model-turned-scream-queen Christa Campbell in the yet-to-be-released survival frightener Unraveled.
