Jason Mewes Will Make ‘The Watermen’ Suck It Like a Circus Seal!

Jay & Silent Bob

Snootchie-bootchies!

Jason Mewes, best known as potty-mouthed dope dealer Jay in early View Askew films such as Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy, leads a cast of dudes I’ve never heard of in Spotlight Pictures’ horror-on-the-high-seas thriller The Watermen.

The synopsis reads:

When a group of young, rich friends led by the dynamic Trailor (Mewes) set out for a deep sea fishing trip aboard a million-dollar dreamboat, an electrical fire rocks the ship, destroying their electrical system and engine, leaving them marooned with no communications in the deep Atlantic. Little did they know that their actions disturbed the native folk who despise outsiders.

These watermen are the anomalous sea clan locally known as the “Guineamen” who inhabit the nearby marshy islands. They’re a preternatural and isolated community of fishermen who date back to Cornwallis’ army of 1781. They rarely interact with the outside world and are rumored to have webbed feet. And now the young friends find themselves starring into the salty eyes of these ancient clan men.

A bad situation turns worse when they are drugged and captured by the watermen. They awake horrified and confused; they realize they are trapped on a small island, and their plans for escape turn to plans of attack. It’s a fight for survival as the friends try to escape the remote island and merciless clutches of the watermen. Will they survive?

Mewes, a seriously underrated actor, has starred in David Arquette’s directorial debut The Tripper, John Gulager’s Feast, and the 2007 vampire horror-comedy Netherbeast Incorporated.

The Watermen is written and directed by Matt L. Lockhart.

Robin-McLeavy-nude

Up-and-coming Australian actress Robin McLeavy will make her American film debut in director/producer Timur Bekmambetov’s soon-to-start shooting horror-comedy Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. McLeavy has been cast in the role of Lincoln’s young mother, whose murder at the hands of a vampire sets Lincoln off on his quest for revenge.

Based on author Seth Grahame-Smith’s best-selling novel, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter re-writes history by pitting the 16th U.S. president against an army of vampires in a secret battle set against the backdrop of the Civil War.

McLeavy drew positive reviews for her portrayal of teen sociopath Lola in writer/director Sean Byrne’s award-winning TIFF darling The Loved Ones. The pretty 29-year-old starlet kidnaps and tortures Twilight’s Xavier Samual in the abduction-thriller.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter stars Benjamin Walker (Flags of Our Fathers) as Honest Abe, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as his wife Mary Todd, Anthony Mackie (Real Steel) as Secretary of State and vampire killer William Seward, and Dominic Cooper (Captain America) as Lincoln’s vamp-killing mentor Henry Sturges.

The film starts shooting in March and is expected to be released in June 2012.

Creepy ’11-11-11′ Trailer Revealed!

11-11-11-fire

A creepy teaser trailer for director Darren Lynn Bousman’s (Saw 2-4) hotly anticipated damnation flick 11-11-11 has revealed itself on the net. The film stars Timothy Gibbs (Witchboard 2) as an American novelist haunted by the numbers 11-11 while visiting his brother and terminally ill father in Barcelona.

Peep it:

The premise behind 11-11-11 is rooted in the superstitious belief that celestial guardians use the numbers to warn us about the impending doom-and-gloom heading our way when the 11th gate of Heaven opens for 49 minutes and we, as a people, are too busy snorting coke, fucking whores, and/or watching HBO to care about repenting.

11-11-11 costars Wendy Glenn (“The L-Word”), Michael Landes (Final Destination 2), Ángela Rosal (El Asesino del Parking), and Salomé Jimenez (Una de Zombis).

The film opens on Nov. 11.
