Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank is set to star in horror legend John Carpenter’s adaptation of “60 Minutes” producer-turned-author John Marks’ vampire novel “Fangland.”
Swank will star as Evangeline Harker, a news show producer sent to Romania to meet with a notorious crime boss who may have ties to vampires.
Swank’s additional horror/sci-fi creds include The Reaping, The Black Dahlia, The Core, The Gift, and Hammer Films’ upcoming thriller The Resident.
Fangland follows The Ward as Carpenter’s second go around in the director’s chair since 2001’s poorly received Ghosts of Mars.
Carpenter fans would also do well to check out the documentary Tales from the Script, a collection of candid interviews with many of Hollywood’s screenwriters, including Carpenter, Frank Darabont (“The Walking Dead,” The Mist), David Hayter (Watchmen, X-Men), William Goldman (Misery, The Stepford Wives), Larry Cohen (Captivity, Maniac Cop), Guinevere Turner (American Psycho, BloodRayne), and many more.
