French weather-girl-turned-actress Louise Bourgoin headlines her first fantasy-adventure feature in director/producer Luc Besson’s (The Fifth Element) adaptation of Jacques Tardi’s comic book series The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec.

Adele Blanc-Sec’s many adventures are indeed extraordinary. From what we see in the trailer, this first outing finds the feisty novelist/adventurer battling against a pterodactyl, outwitting corrupt officials and demon-worshipers, releasing the mummy of Patmosis, and soaking her tired nude body in a tub.

Set in Paris before the first World War, The Extraordinary Adventures of Adele Blanc-Sec was first published as a comic strip in 1976 in the French newspaper Sud-Ouest.

Louise Bourgoin was a weather-girl on Canal + in France.
