New Images from Universal’s ‘The Wolfman’

wolfman

Universal Pictures The Wolfman is scratching at our doors. The Joe Johnston remake, starring Benicio del Toro as the leading lycan, arrives in theaters on Feb. 12. Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving, and Anthony Hopkins costar.

The synopsis reads:

Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, The Wolfman brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Oscar® winner Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother…and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.

Lawrence Talbot’s childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother’s fiancée, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline (Hugo Weaving) has come to investigate.

As he pieces together the gory puzzle, he hears of an ancient curse that turns the afflicted into werewolves when the moon is full. Now, if he has any chance at ending the slaughter and protecting the woman he has grown to love, Talbot must destroy the vicious creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor. But as he hunts for the nightmarish beast, a simple man with a tortured past will uncover a primal side to himself…one he never imagined existed.

mouth

Italian director Gabriele Albanesi (The Last House in the Woods) embraces the art of female dismemberment in his outrageous new slasher In the Mouth of Ubaldo Terzani.

The film tells the story of a young upcoming director (Giuseppe Soleri) who is given the chance to collaborate on a script with the beloved horror novelist Ubaldo Terzani (Paolo Sassanelli). The problem? Terzani draws inspiration for his work by hacking up women and, apparently, sucking cock.

Halloween’s Scout Taylor-Compton Thinks She’s a Good Actress

H2

Scout Taylor-Compton took part in a Stickam web-chat to discuss her future in Dimension Film’s Halloween franchise. The 20-year-old Long Beach, California native says—without any sense of irony—that she will not return for Halloween 3 unless the studio produces a “good” script.

Take a look:

Compton played Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie’s uniquely retarded remake of John Carpenter’s 1978 classic Halloween and its even more craptacular sequel. Regardless of what she decides to do, Compton is really just a couple of flicks away from starring in her underwear in an Asylum Home Entertainment project.

According to Nielsen figures, over a million viewers tuned in last week to see the premiere episode of Starz’s swords-and-sandals series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand.” Those numbers represent an all-time high for the network, easily bumping off its other high-profile serial “Crash,” which only drew 185,000 viewers for its second season premiere.

This week’s episode “Sacramentum Gladiatorum” continues to crank out plenty of boobs and blood, cocks and chains … all within the first 10 minutes! A topless Erin Cummings (Sura) opens the episode grinding on Andy Whitfield (Spartacus). Five minutes later, Lucy Lawless (Lucretia), in her first-ever nude role, is seen getting diddled by a servant girl before dropping her top for John Hannah’s (Batiatus) groping hands.

(UPDATE: To see Lucy bathing nude with slave girls, check out this clip from episode 6)

Finally, for the ladies and/or guys who really, really like gladiator movies, there’s plenty of big bulbous penises on display during a gladiator bathhouse scene.

Once the debauchery is over, the violence kicks in. The blood spilled on the show is cartoonish, but the action—throats slashed, backs whipped, brutal hand-to-hand—is pretty cool (though nowhere near as intense as HBO’s “Rome”). You can catch the “Sacramentum Gladiatorum” episode by clicking here.

To see a gallery of the show, go here.

(Update: Lucy Lawless will reprise her role as Lucretia in Starz’s new spinoff series “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena”)

IFC Picks Up ‘The Killer Inside Me’ Starring Jessica Alba & Kate Hudson

killerkate

IFC has secured the U.S. distribution rights to director Michael Winterbottom’s controversial film adaptation of the Jim Thompson’s 1952 novel The Killer Inside Me.

The film caused quite an uproar over its extreme scenes of misogynistic sex and violence during its Sundance premeire last week, inciting vocal protest and walkouts—among them star Jessica Alba (click here to see the good stuff offending scenes).

IFC purchased the rights for an approximated $1.5 million with plans to release the film this summer theatrically and on VOD.

The Killer Inside Me follows the sadistic exploits of 29-year-old Texas lawman Lou Ford, played by Casey Affleck. Alba and Kate Hudson costar.

Producer Joss Whedon’s ratings-challenged, sci-fi series “Dollhouse” shut its doors for good last night with a finale entitled “Epitaph Two,” which found the characters 10 years into the future. Sadly, if not surprisingly, the episode came in 5th in the ratings, drawing 2.16 million viewers.

“Dollhouse” star Eliza Dushku told the LA Times:

I think it’s easy to point fingers at the end and play coulda/shoulda/woulda. I think initially Fox was really excited about Joss and I teaming up, and I think they were excited about the concept, even though Joss has expressed that maybe the concept that they’d thought up and the concept that he created … maybe there was a disconnect there.

We were optimistic that we would maybe have a chance to go on, but we were also realistic knowing that numbers were the way that they were. It was just a bummer because we’re aware of the fan base and the strong audience that we do have for the show and that’s what always inspired us and fueled us.

… many shows upon getting canceled … that’s it. Game over. You don’t get the chance to finish out all the stories and air all of the episodes. So, it’s a really rare thing that we were really grateful for.

“Dollhouse” starred Dushku as a programmable femme-bot created to carry out the needs of the wealthy. While Dushku often carries out my need to ejaculate into a handful of Kleenex Ultra Soft tissues, even she couldn’t get viewers to tune into the show on Friday nights, commonly known as the potter’s field of time slots.

Dushku is included on Clatto’s list of the Ten Hottest Horror/Sci-fi Babes of the Past Decade.

Katrina Bowden: Hot for Hillbillies

katrina2

If you’re a fan of NBC’s over-hyped sitcom “30 Rock,” you will recognize actress Katrina Bowden as scantly-clad assistant Cerie Xerox. Those of us who find a bowl of turds more amusing than Tina Fey and company, however, are just getting to know the 21-year-old star, namely through her roles in 2009’s survival-frightener The Shortcut and this year’s horror-comedy Tucker and Dale VS. Evil (see picture above).

Tucker and Dale premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and quickly acquired a Canadian distribution deal through Maple Pictures. No word yet on who will be handling U.S. distribution.

t6

Bowden stars in the film as a sexy coed who is rescued by the film’s affable hillbillies during a swimming accident.

In an interview with WickedInfo, Bowden described the film as follows:

Tucker and Dale is an exciting, unique movie that was really fun to be a part of. It’s about two lovable friends who get mistaken as evil crazy “hillbillies” by a group of young college kids when they take a camping trip. My character gets rescued by the two locals when there is a swimming accident – although Tucker and Dale are sweet kind-hearted guys, through the eyes of my friends they seem like evil killers. And similarly, through the eyes of Tucker and Dale, my friends seem crazed and violent. Therefore it turns into a kind of cat-and-mouse scenario with cool special effects and funny back and forth between the “eyes” of both groups.

Along with Bowden, Tucker and Dale VS. Evil stars “Firefly’s” Alan Tudyk and “Reapers” Tyler Labine, as the titular heroes Tucker and Dale, Chelan Simmons (Final Destination 3), Brandon Jay McLaren (“Harper’s Island”), Christie Laing (Scary Movie 4), and Sasha Craig (Dark Wolf). To see a trailer and learn more about the flick, click here.

Sadly, I couldn’t wrangle up any more photos of Bowden in Tucker and Dale, but I did put together the following gallery of shots taken from her performance in The Shortcut and from her bikini-clad romp at a Miami beach. Enjoy.

Pop Singer Ke$ha Smacked Around by Ghost

kesha

Goofy pop star Ke$ha may have seen Paranormal Activity one too many times. The 22-year-old singer believes that she is haunted and won’t settle into a residence until she can shake the ghost.

She tells Rolling Stone:

I don’t have a house, but I’m looking for one. I just want to make sure it’s not haunted. I’m not just saying this to try to sound crazy, like, “Oh, I’m such a crazy pop star, I’m haunted,” but actually, almost every night I have some psycho dream of the same ghost, either in my face, strangling me, smacking me, shoving me, or just hanging out. Sometimes he’s just there, scaring me, being an asshole.

I, for one, don’t think Ke$ha is haunted. I believe she’s getting her ass kicked every night by Lady Ga-Ga for jacking her ridiculous image and style. Man, what ever happened to attractive pop singers like Christina Aguilera and that chick from Culture Club?

‘Lost’ Season 6: First 4-Minutes of Premiere Episode Leaked!

lostbottle

The 815 winners of ABC’s “Lost” sweepstakes contest have each received an exclusive message-in-a-bottle prize package (pictured above) holding a digital key to the first four minutes of the show’s highly anticipated sixth and final season premiere episode entitled LA X. Needless-to-say, those four minutes are now circulating the web.

Personally, I hate spoilers. Love teasers, but spoilers … not so much. I like to enjoy a complete piece of work, which is why I won’t watch the leaked clip. But, hey, if you’re one of those people that has to bite into the chewy center right away, then go ahead and enjoy:

“Lost” season six premieres Tuesday, Feb 2 on ABC.
