Oscar-winner Peter Jackson’s (Lord of the Rings, Dead Alive) film adaptation of the 2002 Alice Sebold novel The Lovely Bones is set to arrive in theaters in limited release on Dec. 11. The film marks Jackson’s return to directing since 2005’s King Kong.

Fifteen-year-old actress Saoirse Ronan plays Susie Salmon, a girl who is raped and murdered by a serial killer living in her neighborhood. As her soul ascends to heaven, she is privy to both her family’s suffering and her killer’s next intended victim. To find eternal peace, Salmon must find a way to help her family heal and stop her killer.

The Lovely Bones also stars Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, and Stanley Tucci. It opens wide on Jan. 15. But, for the time being, you impatient bastards can check out the following clips that have been circulating the web.
